I created this book with a limited color palette based on the poem 13 Ways of Looking at a Blackbird by Wallace Stevens.
I had the opportunity for Caldecott Award winning author/illustrator, Dan Santat, to review my portfolio and he said “… there’s just an amazing playfulness and looseness in Blackbird that really captures my attention. While none of the spreads are particularly detailed, they are cohesive and balanced and compliment this drawing style very well”.
